Chef plating an elegant fig and microgreens appetiser on a white plate in a villa kitchen — private chef dinner on Rhodes

Private Chef

A table full of food, cooked in your villa.

Some evenings on Rhodes, you don't want to go out. The kids are tired. The drive to Lindos is forty minutes, the parking is twenty more, and the table isn't until nine. You'd rather stay on the terrace with a cold glass of wine and have dinner turn up at the villa.

That's what this is. Not a fine-dining chef and a tasting menu — a proper Greek table, the kind of spread you'd find at a good taverna, cooked and served in your own kitchen. You choose a menu, we bring the food and the cook, and you sit down when it's ready.

What's included

Pick one of the set menus below, tell us how many you are and anything we should cook around, and we handle the rest:

  • The cook comes to you. They arrive at the villa, set up in your kitchen, and prepare the full menu on site.
  • A complete table, start to finish. Country bread and dips, salads and starters, a main, and a dessert — the whole spread, not a single course.
  • Tailored to you. Every menu can be adjusted for allergies, dietary preferences, and how the evening should run. Tell us at booking.
  • Served family-style. Brought out to your table on platters, the way you'd actually eat it at home.
  • Kitchen left tidy. An optional dishwashing service clears and washes up for you if you'd rather not lift a finger (see pricing).

What you provide:

  • The kitchen (every villa in our portfolio has one the cook can work in)
  • A table for the group to eat at
  • Wine and drinks
  • Yourselves at the time you've agreed

The menus

Six menus to choose from, each a full set spread rather than a single dish. Example dishes below; we'll send the complete menus when you enquire, and any of them can be tailored to the group.

  • Greek Cuisine. The heart of it. Country bread, spicy feta dip, olive paste and yogurt to start, a Greek salad or meze, then a main — moussaka, kleftiko baked in filo, oven lamb with chickpeas, beef giouvetsi — and a traditional dessert like galaktoboureko or baklava. Six set menus to choose from. €400 for up to 4 guests, €50 per extra guest.
  • Seafood Experience. Taramosalata and dips, shrimp saganaki or octopus salad, fried calamari, then fresh fish — sea bream, salmon, oven-baked sea bass — and a dessert. Three set menus. €450 for up to 4 guests, €60 per extra guest.
  • BBQ Selection. Bread and dips, Greek salad, tzatziki and grilled halloumi, then the grill — pork and chicken souvlaki, sausage and kebab, or lamb and chicken chops — with oven potatoes, finished with fruit or orange pie. Two set menus. €400 for up to 4 guests, €50 per extra guest.
  • Italian Selection. Focaccia, caprese or burrata with cherry tomatoes, an arugula salad, then a pizza, fresh tagliatelle, risotto or penne, and tiramisu or panna cotta. Two set menus. €400 for up to 4 guests, €50 per extra guest.
  • Vegan Mediterranean. Country bread, olive paste, hummus and tahini, a tomato-and-cucumber salad, grilled vegetables, gemista (stuffed tomatoes and peppers), and fresh fruit. €400 for up to 4 guests, €50 per extra guest.
  • Kids Menu. A short menu for younger guests — fish croquettes, chicken nuggets, a mini burger, spaghetti, or a hot dog, all with fries. Combines with any of the main menus. €15 per child.

When it works best

A few of the most common bookings:

  • Arrival night. You've landed at six, reached the villa by eight, the kids are fed and showered by nine, and the table is laid for the adults. No one cooks, no one drives, the holiday starts properly.
  • A birthday or anniversary. A menu everyone likes, a table set on the terrace at sunset, dessert brought out at the end. The cook clears up and leaves; the rest of the night is yours.
  • A group at one table. Twelve or sixteen people eating the same spread, no one negotiating a restaurant booking for the date. Easier than a restaurant, and often cheaper for the same size group.
  • A family week with young kids. The kids' menu early, the main menu later, both out of one kitchen. No one cooks anything.
  • After a long day out. A yacht day, a long hike, an afternoon at a beach an hour from the villa. Coming back to dinner already in the kitchen turns a tired evening into the best one of the week.

Tell us what the dinner is for and we'll point you to the menu that fits.

Pricing, plain

Each menu is a flat rate for up to four guests, with a set price for every guest after that:

  • Greek, BBQ, Italian and Vegan Mediterranean: €400 for up to 4 guests, then €50 per extra guest.
  • Seafood Experience: €450 for up to 4 guests, then €60 per extra guest.
  • Kids Menu: €15 per child, combinable with any main menu.

Two things can be added on top, both optional and both confirmed before you book:

  • Location charge. For villas further from our base, a small additional charge may apply depending on where the property is. Never a surprise on the night.
  • Dishwashing service (€50). Add it if you'd rather the kitchen be cleared and washed up for you; skip it if you're happy to load the dishwasher yourselves.

The full total — menu, number of guests, any location charge, and dishwashing if you want it — is confirmed in writing before the evening.

A few practical notes

  • Lead time. Book a few days ahead where you can. In peak season (mid-July through August), give us a week or more to lock in your date.
  • Group size. Menus are priced from four guests; larger groups are no problem — up to sixteen or twenty at one table is normal, and we'll talk through anything bigger.
  • Allergies and diets. Flag them at booking, not on the night. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and most other requirements are workable across the menus.
  • The kitchen. Every villa in our portfolio has a kitchen the cook can work in. A very compact kitchen with a big menu may mean some dishes are prepped in advance and finished on site — normal, and it doesn't affect the meal.
  • Timing. Plan for the cook to be at the villa for a couple of hours, from setup to a tidy exit.
