Family Retreats
Enough room for everyone, and a pool that's yours alone.
Rhodes does families well. The east-coast beaches shelve gently, the water is warm from June through September, and the distances are short enough that nobody is stuck in a car for two hours after a long day at the beach.
These villas give you a private pool you don't share, proper outdoor space the kids can actually use, and a kitchen with enough counter to cook in. No shared amenities. No negotiating pool time with strangers. No surprises when you arrive.
We manage 600+ properties on Rhodes, year-round, with a team based on the island. When something needs fixing during your stay, the call goes to the same people who took your booking, not a help desk three time zones away.
Calm water, fine sand, and a taverna for lunch
The east-coast beaches are built for this kind of holiday. A few worth knowing:
- Tsambika. The most reliable family beach on the island. Genuinely golden sand, a long shallow slope into the sea, and big enough that even in August it doesn't feel crowded. Sunbeds, umbrellas, a lifeguard in season, and tavernas behind the beach for when "five more minutes" turns into a long lunch.
- Stegna. A small fishing village with tavernas built right onto the seafront. Kids can eat half-wet from the sea and no one minds. Quieter than Tsambika, and the water is calm enough for early swimmers.
- Kolymbia. Reached through a long avenue of eucalyptus trees, which is the first sign that this is a calmer kind of beach. A sheltered bay that suits younger children and toddlers.
- Pefkos and Lindos main beach. Further south. Lindos is more developed (sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports for older kids), Pefkos is a long sandy stretch that's slightly more low-key.
- Anthony Quinn Bay and Ladiko. Small, scenic, good for snorkeling once the children are confident in the water. Worth the short drive on a calm day.
Most villas in this collection are within fifteen to twenty-five minutes of at least two of the above. If beach proximity is the brief, tell us, and we'll narrow the shortlist.
Private pool, proper size, fenced where it matters
Every villa in this collection has a private pool that isn't shared with anyone else. That part is non-negotiable.
What varies between properties is the detail. Some have a shallow Roman step entry that works well for toddlers. Some are fenced or gated. Some are positioned so a parent on the terrace can see the pool without leaving their seat, or watch from the kitchen window while making breakfast. A few have pool covers or alarms.
We know which villa has which. Before you book, ask us:
- The depth at the shallow end and the deep end
- Whether the pool is fenced, gated, or fully open
- Where the pool sits in relation to the kitchen and main terrace
- Whether there's a separate paddling pool or a step that effectively works as one
- Heating, if you're travelling in May or October
We manage these properties. We can tell you exactly what you are getting, including the bits the photos don't show.
Days that don't feel like school
A week on the east coast doesn't need to be all beach. A few of the things that work well for families, in roughly the order kids enjoy them:
- Seven Springs (Epta Piges). A forested gorge with cold natural springs and an old watermill. The bit children remember is the walk through a narrow stone tunnel ankle-deep in water, which empties out at a small lake. There's a taverna at the entrance for lunch afterwards. Twenty minutes from most of the villas in this collection.
- Feraklos Castle. The ruins sit on a hill above Charaki bay and you can walk up from the beach. Big rocks to climb on, a clear view down the coast, and a swim in the pebble cove waiting at the bottom.
- Lindos. Donkeys still climb the path to the acropolis (a hit with younger children, a curiosity for older ones). The acropolis itself is genuinely impressive once you're up there. Plan it for early morning, before the heat and the cruise-ship crowds.
- Rhodes Old Town. A UNESCO World Heritage Site with intact medieval walls, knights' streets, and lanes wide enough to get properly lost in for an afternoon. Ice cream, souvenirs, a tour of the Grand Master's Palace, and dinner on the way back to the villa.
- Kallithea Springs. Restored 1930s thermal baths in a horseshoe-shaped bay. The architecture is unusual, the swimming is on a small pebble cove, and there's enough to look at to keep older kids interested.
All of the above are within an hour of most of the villas in this collection. None of them require a full day, which means they slot around pool mornings and beach afternoons rather than replacing them.
Arrival without the dread
The worst part of a family holiday is the first few hours. A late flight, an hour-long transfer, an empty fridge, children asking when they can swim. By the time everyone is in bed, the holiday hasn't started yet.
One message to us covers it:
- A driver waiting at Diagoras Airport with a vehicle the right size for the luggage
- A hire car delivered to the villa instead of a queue at an airport desk
- The fridge stocked before you arrive (milk, bread, fruit, water, beer, wine, basics for breakfast). Send us a list, or we'll do a standard family stock
- A cot, highchair, or stair gate set up in advance if you need one
- A late check-in coordinated with the housekeeper if your flight lands at midnight
Most of this gets agreed by WhatsApp in the week before you fly. The kids are in the pool by ten the next morning.
Booking direct
This collection is bookable here, directly with us. The rate you see is the rate you pay, and we guarantee it against every other channel, including the OTAs that list these same villas.
Booking direct means real people who know the property answering your pool, safety, and cot questions before you commit. It means flexible cancellation terms set by the company that manages the villa, not a platform. And it means when something does come up during your stay, you're calling the team that takes care of the house all year round.
To talk through which villa fits the ages and shape of your family, message us on WhatsApp at +30 69 79 86 73 19 or send an inquiry from any property page. Replies come within a few hours during business hours, same day otherwise.
